Facts, history and science for curious children
What is here: This section brings together children’s non-fiction books about history, science, nature, space, the human body, geography and everyday how-things-work questions. A lot of the current stock leans toward lively, school-age reference and fact books.
Current stock: There is a clear cluster of well-known series and authors here, especially Terry Deary, Nick Arnold, Anita Ganeri and Kjartan Poskitt, though stock may change. That means plenty of funny, accessible books on subjects like Romans, Victorians, Saxons, maths, bugs, weather, oceans and the body.
Scope: You will also find some gentler introductory non-fiction for younger children, plus a few books on feelings, health, biographies, crafts and practical activities. It is a mixed section rather than a tightly narrow one, so ages and reading levels vary.
If you want more hands-on titles, see Activity Books, which focuses more on doing and making than learning facts. For story-led books, Middle Grade (7–12) is the better place. You can also browse the wider Children’s Books section for everything else. Stock may change.
