History, war, biography and other factual reading
What you’ll find here: this Non-Fiction section is mostly history, war writing, memoir, biography and accessible popular history. There are also some books on politics, society, science, travel, culture and ideas.
The strongest theme is history. A lot of the current stock focuses on Britain, Europe, ancient history, the world wars, resistance, espionage and the Holocaust. There are also a few classic works on war and strategy, along with biographies of political, scientific and historical figures.
Some authors appear more than once at the moment, including Tom Holland, Ben Macintyre, Stephen E. Ambrose, Terry Deary and Anne Applebaum, though stock may change. If you are browsing for factual books with a clear historical slant, this is the main place to look.
If you want made-up stories instead, see Fiction, which is for novels and short stories rather than factual writing. For books focused more specifically on this country and its history, try Poland Related. If you want older foundational works rather than modern non-fiction, Classics is a better fit.
