As Jane learns more about Emma, the previous tenant who died in the house, she begins to suspect that Emma’s death was no accident and that both the house and its architect hide dangerous secrets. Told in alternating „Then” (Emma) and „Now” (Jane) chapters, the novel explores control, obsession, trauma and power dynamics in relationships, building tension through its high-tech setting, twisty plot and morally ambiguous characters.
