Book Description
The crew of the starship Nightflyer travels to the outer reaches of known space in search of a legendary alien race known as the volcryn. The mission is led by scientist Karoly d’Branin, while the ship is captained by the elusive Royd Eris, who appears only as a hologram and keeps his distance from the rest of the crew. Among the passengers is Melantha Jhirl, a genetically enhanced warrior with exceptional strength and intelligence. As the Nightflyer draws closer to its mysterious destination, strange and gruesome accidents begin to plague the ship. The crew senses that they are being watched and hunted, and paranoia spreads through the narrow corridors. Royd refuses to reveal the full truth about the Nightflyer, and there is no turning back: the volcryn are near, and the voyage into the unknown becomes a claustrophobic blend of science fiction and horror.
