Good Omens is a comic fantasy novel about the end of the world, co‑written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. According to the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world will end next Saturday, just after tea. As the forces of Heaven and Hell prepare for Armageddon, an angel (Aziraphale) and a demon (Crowley) who have grown rather fond of Earth decide they would prefer the apocalypse not to happen. Their best hope is to influence the Antichrist, but a mix‑up at birth means the boy has been growing up as an apparently ordinary child in the English village of Tadfield. Meanwhile, the Four Bikers of the Apocalypse are on the move, witchfinders and modern witches are drawn into the coming conflict, and prophecies begin to unfold in unexpected ways.
