Thomas Paine’s „Rights of Man” is a landmark work of political philosophy, written in response to Edmund Burke’s „Reflections on the Revolution in France”. Paine defends the French Revolution and argues that people are born with natural rights, and that any political system which violates those rights is illegitimate and should be reformed or replaced.
