The close bonds between them are gradually tested, first by sudden tragedy and then by a disturbing web of deception that slowly comes to light. Combining the intimacy of a family saga with the tension of a psychological thriller, the novel explores art, friendship, marriage, grief, betrayal, and the complexities of the human mind against the backdrop of New York’s bohemian art world.
